Indian Oil Corporation Limited initiates Indian Oil Academic Scholarship scheme which offers a total 2600 scholarships to the students pursuing 10+ITI, Engineering, MBBS, MBA. The maximum available scholarship is up to INR 1,44,000.
The distribution of Indian Oil Academic Scholarship are divided into two categories:
Indian Oil Scholarships Scheme for 10+/ITI studies
2000 Scholarships are provided for 10+ITI students and the proportionate distribution of scholarships will be State-wise, based on “Number of students who appeared for 10th Standard examination.
IndianOil Scholarships Scheme for Graduate and Post-graduate studies:
600 Scholarships are available for professional courses- 300 scholarships for engineering, 200 for MBBS and 100 scholarships for MBA Degree. The proportionate distribution of scholarships will be Zone-wise viz. North, South, East & West, based on “Number of students who appeared for 12th Standard examination.
Eligibility criteria Indian Oil Academic Scholarship
In order to be eligible for Indian Oil Academic Scholarship, students must fulfill the following criteria:
10+ITI-
- Students must register themselves as full time / regular students (not correspondence/distance/online mode) and pursue study in schools/colleges/institutions recognised by State Education Boards/State Technical Education Boards / ICSE / ISC / CBSE.
- For 10+, students have to enroll in 11th Standard or 1st year of intermediate course or equivalent course.
- For ITI, students have to enroll in 1st year for 2 years ITI course.
Engineering and MBBS
- Students must register themselves as full time / regular students (not correspondence/distance/online mode) and pursue study in Colleges / Institutions recognized by MCI / AICTE/ State technical education board.
- Full-time/regular students have to undertake admission in the first year of Engineering/MBBS degree courses (minimum 4 years’ duration course).
IOCL Scholarship for MBA
- Students must register themselves as full time / regular students (not correspondence/distance/online mode) and pursue study in Colleges / Institutions recognized by AICTE.
- Students who are enrolled in the first year of minimum 2 years Postgraduate course in management or business administration are eligible for the scholarship.

Minimum Eligibility Percentage of Marks for IOCL Scholarships
Minimum eligibility percentage of marks required from the students of various categories in qualifying examination is given in the below table.

Age limit for IOCL Scholarships
Minimumage is 15 years and maximum age is 30 years.
Relaxation for the age limit is 10 years for physically challenged, 5 years for SC/ ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.
Income of Family Members
Gross Joint annual income of the family of the student from all sources should not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only). However, in case of tie, preference will be given to the students whose annual family income is upto Rs. 60,000/- (Rs. Sixty thousand only.)
Reservation
49.5% scholarships are reserved i.e. SC(15%), ST(7.5%) & OBC (27%). 25 % of scholarships for girl students and 10% of scholarships for persons with Disabilities (PwDs) (minimum 40% disability as per definition under Disabilities Act 1952) are reserved in each category/sub-category.

Bonus Prize
Those qualifying in the merit list of the particular course (Top 10 in 10+ or Top 3 in graduate/post-graduate) will get a lump sum Bonus Prize of Rs. 10,000/- (Rs. Ten thousand only). Toppers will be invited at IOCL’s cost for receiving the amount.

Indian Oil Academic Scholarship Application Process
The step by step online application process is explained below:
- Go to the official website – www.iocl.com to access the online application form.
- Fill the form with the proper details
- After validating details, candidates have to submit the application form.
- Once the online application is submitted by an applicant, the system will generate a unique Registration Number.
- An automatic message will be generated through SMS/ e-Mail message on the Contact number or e-Mail address given in the online application as a token of confirmation of submission of your Online Application Form.
- Candidates need to print out the application form for future use .
- Candidates need to download/save the online registered application form and take a print out of the same.
- Candidates have to attach hard copies of above mentioned documents along with a hard copy of application form. (All documents need to be attested from Principal/Head of the institution where the student is studying or from a Gazatted Officer or from a First Class Judicial Magistrate.)
- The application form along with the documents, may be sent via Speed post or Registered post before the last date to the given below address.

Indian Oil Academic Scholarship Selection Process
After verification all the application forms and documents, the IOCL scholarship selection committee will shortlist the deserving candidates for Indian oil Academic Scholarship. Selection process will mainly depend on following parameters:
- Merit is the primary factor for getting selected. The higher the merit of the candidate, the higher is the chances of his/her selection.
- Next important factor is family income of the candidate. The Lower the income of his/her family, the higher is the chances of selection for the scholarship.
Disbursement of Indian Oil Academic Scholarship
First scholarship installment shall be released for 12 months by demand draft and subsequent Scholarship installments shall be released on six monthly basis through NEFT/Bank Transfer based on satisfactory performance and other details provided by the Principal/Head of the academic institution in the Feedback Form.
Terms and Conditions of Indian Oil Academic Scholarship
- OBC candidate listed in the state quota but not listed under union government quota, should apply under General category quota and not under OBC category quota.
- Any Affidavit submitted as Income Proof shall not be accepted.
- Wards of the IOCL employees, its Joint Venture and Subsidiary companies and Consultant managing the Scheme are not eligible to apply.
- An Indian Oil Academic scholarship holder will not hold any other scholarship / stipend / financial aid from any other source.
- Applicants should have the savings bank account in their name in the branch of any Nationalised Bank (joint bank account with parents/guardians in case applicant is minor).
