McGill University MBA Program

McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management will offer 12, 16, and 20-month MBA options to meet changing student needs.

If you are looking for general managerial expertise for better outcomes, your demand will meet through their 12 month option.

If you are looking for condensed MBA programs, internships and other opportunities in different industries, the 16 month option will give you the time to obtain the skills and experience.

For international students who are planning to launch their careers in Canada after finishing their MBA, the 20-month option will give them the work permit and facilitate the transition into permanent residency.

MBA Curriculum McGill University

Full-time MBA Program: There are 48-credit and 54-credit programs. The 48-credit program can be completed in 12 months. The 54-credit takes 20 months.

McGill University Admission Criteria for MBA full-time MBA Program

→ Completion of the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

→ 2 years minimum of relevant full-time post-graduate work experience.

→Official transcripts of your degrees

→ English Proficiency Test (TOEFL or IELTS) is required for applicants whose first language is not English or who completed their undergraduate degree in a university where the language of instruction was not in English.

TOEFL- 100 or IELTS score- 7

Selection Process

An interview will take place after a preliminary review of your files. This interview is primarily conducted by Skype for international and non-Montreal students, and in-person for local students. Part-time MBA program: The part-time McGill MBA curriculum takes place over 28 months (three academic years).

M.D.,C.M.

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences offers a four-year undergraduate medical program.

Québec residents with a university degree,

Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (who are not Québec residents) with a university degree,

M.D.,C.M & PhD.

McGill’s MDCM & PhD program is designed to prepare qualified students for successful careers in medicine and research. This is a 7 year programme offered by Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

M.D.,C.M. for International Medical Graduates (IMG)- Two pathways are available for graduates of International medical programs (IMGs). One is IMG-2 & another is IMG-4. The IMG 2-year admissions pathway is open to graduates of International (non-North American) medical programs who are residents of Québec. The IMG 4-year admissions pathway is open to all IMGs, regardless of whether they are residents of Quebec, Canada, or International students.

Med- P Programme- This is a one-year preparatory program designed exclusively for CEGEP students but not open to university-level students or to students outside Québec.

One-year Entrance Scholarship McGill University

This is a merit-based entrance Scholarship that is available to first-time university students entering a full-time undergraduate degree program.

Award value- $3000

Eligibility criteria:

  • Canadian students and Overseas students have to maintain a minimum average (approximately 96.0% or equivalent) over the last two years of full-time study and/or rank in the top 1-2% of class.
  • IB (International Baccalaureate) score should be 41

How to apply:

No separate Application is required. All applicants to McGill undergraduate degree programs will be automatically considered for a one-year entrance scholarship if  they meet the eligibility criteria.

Major Entrance Scholarships McGill University

Major Scholarships are worth between $3,000 and $12,000 (renewable annually up to 3 or 4 years provided criteria for renewal are met).

Note- $12,000 scholarships are only available to Canadian citizens or legal permanent residents of Canada.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Canadian students and Overseas students have to maintain a minimum average (approximately 96.0% or equivalent) over the last two years of full-time study and/or rank in the top 1-2% of class.

The Chancellor Richard W. Pound Entrance Scholarship

FMRC Bellini Family Scholarship in Science

It is awarded to an outstanding student who has completed at least one year of a B.Sc Program in Chemistry ($5000)

The Weston Fellowship McGill University

Award value is $19,000 (may vary). Renewable once at the Master’s level, twice at the Doctoral level.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants should register their name in a full time graduate program at McGill or should receive an Offer of Admission from McGill.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship McGill University

Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada and foreign citizens are eligible to be nominated for a Vanier CGS.

$50,000 is awarded upto 3 years.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Only one Canadian institute that falls under Vanier CGS Quota must nominate the candidate.
  • be pursuing your first doctoral degree (including joint graduate research program such as: MD/PhD, DVM/PhD, JD/PhD)
  • For joint graduate research program, only the PhD portion of a joint graduate research program is eligible for funding.
  • have completed no more than 20 months of full-time study in their doctoral program.
  • have completed no more than 32 months of full-time study in their doctoral Program, if enrolled in a joint graduate research program, e.g., MD/PhD, MA/PhD, DVM/PhD.
  • have completed no more than 32 months of full-time study in their doctoral program, if accelerated from a Master’s degree into a Doctoral program without obtaining the Master’s degree.

Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarships McGill University

Every scholar will be awarded up to $60,000 (including an annual travel allowance of $20,000) for up to 3 years.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You must be already accepted into or in year one, two, or three of a full-time doctoral program in the humanities or social sciences.
  • Your doctoral work must relate to at least one of the Foundation’s Four Themes: Human Rights and Dignity, Responsible Citizenship, Canada and the World, People and their Natural Environment.
  • Students belong to Canada or foreign nationals both can apply.
  • Two references will be required

Tomlinson Doctoral Fellowships McGill University

This fellowship offers up to $35,000 per year, renewable twice.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Only applicants with a 1st class academic record. McGill considers a first-class GPA to be 3.7 (or 3.5 in Law) in each of the last two (2) years of full-time study at the undergraduate and post-graduate level.
  • It is available for the incoming students accepted into a doctoral degree at McGill University.
  • There are no citizenship restrictions.

Graduate Research Enhancement and Travel Awards (GREAT Awards)

Total funding for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies contribution of $430,000. The GREAT awards allocation for each Faculty is determined by enrollment, based on the percentage of eligible graduate students.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Thesis Master’s or Doctoral students should register in full-time programs. (Not in time limitation)
  • Students must meet the eligibility criteria at the time of travel and when the award is paid.

Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships

The award value is $70,000 per year (taxable) for two years.

Eligibility criteria:

Entrance Bursary Program for Undergraduates McGill University

The University’s Entrance Bursary Program offers entrance bursaries to students from low to modest-income families who demonstrate financial need.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Students must undertake full-time degree  at the University
  • They should demonstrate financial need

How to apply:

The application becomes available on Minerva: select the Financial Aid/Awards tab > Financial Aid Menu > Apply for a McGill Entrance Bursary > Apply to Entrance Bursary Program > Complete then submit your application.

Both the US and international students International (non-US) students who wish to apply to the Entrance Bursary Program from the University must submit a CSS Profile in addition to the McGill Minerva aid application.

Students will automatically be considered for this type of an entrance award when they submit the Entrance Bursary application on Minerva i.e. no separate application is required.

Apply within 30 days from the date of formal acceptance to McGill University.

PAUL STOTHART MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP IN MINERAL ECONOMICS

Each year Mining Association of Canada offers $3,500 to a recipient of this Scholarship.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must be enrolled full-time in a Canadian University studying either a Bachelor or Master of Economics, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • They should demonstrate an interest in mineral economics or mining commerce.

P.E.O International Peace Scholarship

The maximum amount awarded to a student is $12,500. Lesser amounts may be awarded according to individual needs.

Eligibility criteria:

  • It is available for women who come from other countries for full-time Graduate study in the USA or Canada.
  • They should demonstrate the financial need

Key dates: International Peace Scholarship will be open September 15, 2021-December 15, 2021.

Singapore Food Agency Scholarship

  • SFA Diploma Scholarship (Mid-term): Shortlisted applicants would be invited to complete a 6-week internship with SFA. They  offer the scholars development opportunities including job rotations to different areas of work (i.e. operations, research & laboratory, and policy & planning), secondment to other agencies, technical and management training.
  • Eligibility criteria:
  • Should be Singaporean citizens
  • Students pursuing a diploma course in a relevant field of study at a local polytechnic

Arbour Foundation – Scholarship for Master and Doctoral level study in Computer Science, Engineering, and Management McGill University

This award is only for applicants in the academic disciplines of Computer Science, Engineering and Management.

Award value-

$13,000 (Masters) MSc, MMF and MMA – renewable once

$20,000 (Doctoral) – renewable once

$13,000 (MBA) – non renewable
