Schulich Leader Scholarship

Schulich Leader Scholarships are one of the largest and most prestigious undergraduate entrance scholarships for students enrolling in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) areas of study at selected universities in Canada. The scholarships are awarded up  to 100 students each year on the basis of academic excellence and leadership, innovation and creativity. This program is funded by The Schulich Foundation and Co-Administered by UJA Federation of Greater Toronto.

Schulich Leader Scholarship from Top 20 Universities

There are 20 partner universities who provide this scholarship to support and encourage young people’s passions in scientific research and innovation.

Schulich Leader Scholarship Award Value

Schulich Leader Scholarships in Engineering are valued at $100,000. Recipients will receive annual payments of $25,000 over a period of four years if all renewal criteria are met.

Amount of $80,000 is awarded to a student pursuing a Science, Technology or Mathematics degree with annual payments of $20,000 over a period of four years if all renewal criteria are met.

Schulich Leader Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  1. To be eligible under this Schulich Leader Scholarship program applicants must be Canadian Citizen or permanent resident of Canada graduating from a Canadian high school, secondary school, or CEGEP  and they have to choose one of the 20 Partner Universities for enrollment.
  2. You have to be nominated by your high school, secondary school, or CEGEP as Schulich Leader nominees. Every high school in Canada can nominate one student. Cegep can nominate up to four.
  3. Applicants should be entrepreneurial-minded and intend to pursue a career in one or more of the focus areas of technology, engineering, entrepreneurship and business enterprise, and applied scientific research.
  4. Meet two out of three criteria: outstanding community, business or entrepreneurial leadership; academic excellence; financial need.

Schulich Leader Scholarship Information

Note- The students who intend to be a medical researcher (Doctor, Dentist, Pharmacist etc) or physician the Schulich Leader Scholarship is not available for them.

Those who apply at colleges for becoming a professor or for conducting theoretical research are not considered for Schulich Scholarships Programme.

Schulich Leader Scholarship – Required Documentations

If you are nominated for the Schulich Leader Scholarship Program, submit your Scholarship application which includes the following :

  • Your desired University to enroll
  • Your top three achievements (academic or other)
  • Write an essay of 600 words by demonstrating the reasons why you should be selected.
  • A short paragraph to identify where you see yourself in 10 years.
  • Copy of up-to-date transcript, credit counsel summary or detailed academic report
  • Email and other contact information for verification

Schulich Leader Scholarship 2021 Key Program Dates:

High school nomination deadline: January 27,2021.

Student scholarship application deadline: February 12, 2021.

Winners confirmed- March 1- June 15, 2021.

Project Hero Scholarship

The Project Hero Scholarship is awarded annually to undergraduate full-time students in a first-entry degree program. It is for dependant children of the Canadian military killed while serving in an active mission.

Project Hero Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  1. To be eligible, the recipient must be a dependant member of the Canadian personnel killed while serving in an active mission.
  2. Under the age of twenty-six.
  3. Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  4. Registered as a full-time student at the main campus in a first entry undergraduate degree program.
