The most prestigious Scholarship of University of Toronto for International students is U of T Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship. It covers tuition fees, books, incidental fees, and full residence support for four years. Pearson International Scholarship provides an outstanding opportunity for International students to study at one of the world’s best universities in Canada and helps to boost their potential to contribute to the global community in the future. This scholarship is tenable only at the University of Toronto for first-entry, undergraduate programs. Each year Lester B. Pearson offers approximately 37 scholars around the world who demonstrate excellent academic achievements, creativity and good leadership skills.

Eligibility criteria
In order to avail Pearson International Scholarship, students must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicant must be an international student (i.e. a non-Canadian) with a student visa to study in Canada.
- Either you are in your final year of secondary school or you have graduated no earlier than June 2020.
- beginning your studies at the University of Toronto in September 2021 (students already attending post-secondary studies cannot be considered; students starting their studies in January 2021 at another post-secondary institution cannot be considered).
- You must be nominated by your school.
- Students should be committed to school and community, have strong leadership skills, enthusiasm for learning and high academic achievements.

Pearson Scholarship Application process
At first high schools have to submit an application form to participate University of Toronto’s Scholarship Programme.
To Apply Click Here! This is a verification form and it is to be used by school counsellors/representatives only.
After completing the verification process, high schools will get the instructions for nominating a student directly. You will receive a nomination letter from your school.
Apply to study at the University of Toronto to begin your studies in 2021 and complete your application for admission by the appropriate deadlines. Please remember that you will be considered for the Pearson Scholarship for your first choice of the program at U of T. You may apply for several programs and may receive admission to them all; however, the Pearson Scholarship, if awarded to you, would be restricted to your first choice of the program at U of T at the time our scholarship decisions are made.
Submitting the application for admission at the U of T and receiving a nomination from the scholarship, you already have completed your Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program application.
Note- Schools can nominate one student per year.
Pearson Scholarship amount
The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships will cover tuition fees, books, incidental fees, and full residence support for four years.
Pearson Scholarship Deadlines:
- School nomination deadline: November 30, 2023
- Student OUAC application deadline: December 15, 2023
- Student scholarship application deadline: January 15, 2024

University of Toronto Engineering International Scholar Award:
All high school applicants to U of T Engineering are automatically considered for Faculty-specific admission scholarships when they apply. Selection is made on the basis of exceptional academic record and demonstrated leadership through involvement in the school or the broader community.
Engineering applicants may also be considered for university-wide scholarships, for which a separate application is required.
Eligibility criteria
- Undergraduate students entering first year of any program in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a secondary school outside of Canada.
- If English is not your first language, you should provide evidence of English language proficiency: IELTS, TOEFL, or other acceptable proof.
U of T Engineering International Admission Scholarships amount and Application process

Metro International Secondary Academy Award of Excellence
University of Toronto provides this scholarship for domestic students as well as international students. Total 3 Scholarships are offered in Undergraduate degree coursework in all subjects offered by the university.
Eligibility criteria: To be awarded with this scholarship, students must enter their first year of study based on academic merit. Preference will be given to graduates of the Metro International Secondary Academy.
How to apply
- Just take admission in the undergraduate degree coursework at the University of Toronto. Once the registration is complete, candidates will be automatically considered for this education award.
- Must submit degree certificates, academic transcripts, and CV with your application.
- If English is not your first language, you should provide evidence of English language ability: IELTS, TOEFL, or other acceptable proof.
Scholarship amount- Annually, one award at $5,000 will be awarded to the student with the highest average and two additional awards of $2,500 will be awarded, based on academic merit.
President’s Scholars of Excellence Program
University of Toronto Offers approximately 150 Scholarships to the most highly qualified secondary school students (both domestic and international) to first year of direct entry. Students are considered automatically for this scholarship on the basis of their average at the time of admission and they will receive a $10,000 entrance scholarship in their first year of studies.
Eligibility criteria
In order to avail President’s Scholar of Excellence Programme, students must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Recipients must be applying to the first year of direct-entry undergraduate studies.
- Applicants must register themselves as full-time students at the University in the fall of the year.
- applicants who have previously attended a post-secondary institution are not eligible for President’s Scholars of Excellence consideration.
Scholarship amount and benefits
- The program includes a $10,000 entrance scholarship in the student’s first year of studies, access to part-time on-campus employment during second year, and guaranteed access to an international learning opportunity during their U of T experience.
- Additional features may be offered by the admitting Faculty; these will be communicated explicitly in the letter of admission.
How to apply
No application is required. Any student applying for admission is automatically considered for the President’s Scholars of Excellence Program.

Salim Majdalany Scholarship
Candidates are expected to possess the following eligibility criteria for the University of Toronto Salim Majdalany Scholarship:
- The award is available for undergraduate students who come from Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq or any other member state of the Arab League.
- Entering or is enrolled in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering or the Faculty of Law.
- Candidates must be highly motivated, responsible, and able to work independently in a structured manner and as good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Applicants must hold an offer for a full-time program at University of Toronto, Canada.
- If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence of adequate English facility for admission consideration, unless you qualify for an exemption.

Mastercard Scholars Program
The University of Toronto is proudly partnering with The MasterCard Foundation to develop Africa’s next generation of leaders. Mastercard Scholars program provides academically talented young leaders from Sub-Saharan Africa with access to a world-class university education. The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at University of Toronto will welcome both undergraduate and graduate Scholars from Sub-Saharan Africa.
Eligibility criteria
In order to avail Mastercard Scholars Programme, students must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must be residents of a country within Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Demonstrated financial need correspondent to that of the lowest two quintiles of their country.
- Candidates should have very strong academic results within their respective school system, good leadership skills and extracurricular involvement.
- Fulfill necessary English requirements (dependent on country)
- Graduate applicants must be from a recognized Mastercard Foundation partner university.
- As U of T graduates and global citizens, they will return to Africa with the tools to change lives within their communities and across borders.
Mastercard Scholars Program awards and benefits

University of Toronto Students’ Union Dollar for Daycare Grant
The University of Toronto Students’ Union Dollar for Daycare Grant assists full-time or part-time undergraduate students with daycare expenses, based on financial need. Values of this grant can vary depending on individual student needs and funding available.
Eligibility criteria
- Full or part-time undergraduate student (including undergraduate international students)
- Have financial needs related to daycare.

University of Toronto Student Union (UTSU) Undergraduate Grant
The University of Toronto Student Union (UTSU) Undergraduate Grant is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student (domestic as well as international) on the basis of financial need, and extracurricular involvement in the University Community.
Eligibility criteria:
Recipient must follow the below mentioned criteria:
- be full-time undergraduate student
demonstrate financial need.
- have extracurricular involvement in the University Community
- have maintained a minimum academic standing of “C”.
How to apply
- At first complete the U of T Student Award Application Form.
- Your personal statement must include a list of your extracurricular activities. Indicate which of these activities have made a particular contribution to your own development and/or to University life.
- Submit a letter of reference in support of your application from a member of the university who is familiar with your contribution and involvement.

Mitacs Globalink Research Award
The Mitacs Globalink Research Award provides $6,000 for senior undergraduate and graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows in Canada to conduct 12–24 week

This Scholarship is available for the entrepreneurial minded students who can not move their business ideas forward due to lack of personal funds. So, a scholarship worth $2000 has been set up to help.
Heer Law Entrepreneurship Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for the Heer Law Entrepreneurship Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be currently attending university or set to attend during the 2023-2024 academic year;
- Must be in good standing
- Must apply via email and provide their name, address, university or college, major and expected graduation month and year;
- Provide their application (a business plan for their current or prospective business which includes a section outlining intellectual property strategy).

Trendhim Scholarship
